Windsurfing: Shoreham Wind Direction: SSW Wind Stength: F4-5 Surf / Sea State: Medium waves Air Temperature: Sea Temperature: Weather: mixed Max Speed: Distance Covered:
Shoreham actually produced the goods for once! I sailed from around half
three, but should probably have got down sooner for the biggest waves and
best wind. When i arrived, the sea was just around the bottom of the
groynes and the swell was around chest/head height on the bigger ones. It
was pretty onshore, but clean and well spaced. Rigged 5m quick and got out
there. And it was worth the rush, good for playing on the waves, steeper
ramps for jumps, although I was a bit underpowered and under volumed. Wind
eased and I rigged up to 5.5m. Then it was just a decent session, always
2-3 foot ramps and rides. Viscious current at first, but this eased down
with the tide. Highly enjoyable, some sweeet back-side lip thumps. Right
at the end a nasty dark storm cloud came through (earlier had seen
lightning over the massed kites at Lancing) and just at that point the wind
went cross-off. Typically, pulled the front footstrap out on my first down
the line turn, but carried on with loose foot for a few small rides before
total wind loss.
